Find a wifeTo show her how much I loved her, and how eager I was to make her my wife as soon as possible, I promised to follow her home, so that I could see her parents, make the necessary marital enquiries, and fix the date for our wedding instantly. This lady, a slender, tall, light-skinned beautiful damsel, whose hairs glowed so dark as if she added a substance to it. It was so gorgeous and long, to the extent of her waist. I remember saying something about her fixing the hair and she refuted my claim, saying it was her natural hair. I was astonished.We met at the market place where I went to get some food items over the weekend. Bachelor's usual stuffs. I had been searching for a wife seriously for the past couple of weeks all to no avail, until she came my way.Even though I had many girlfriends I flirt with, none of them made it to my category of wife material. My parents - my mum especially - were on my neck to get married and give them grandkids, since I was their only child. Mum warned me sternly never to come back for the next Christmas celebration without a girl to present to them. Christmas was barely a month away, and I couldn't afford to fail in my quest to find a wife.So you see, it was operation ‘find a wife.’Seeing this girl for the first time, she met my criteria of a good wife. She had this charming charisma that made me fall instantly for her.When I approached her in the market place, it was so rowdy and we could barely hear each other vividly, even though we spoke loudly, almost conversing on the top of our voices. Due to the noise, she asked that we meet and speak another day. I asked for her phone number, and she said she doesn't have any phone.“How? A big girl like you?” I queried surprisingly.She just looked at me without saying a word. I gave her my number and asked her to call me, but she turned it down.“Pick a place for us to meet,” she uttered with a mean voice.She was weird. I asked her to pick the venue and she turned to walk away before I held her hand and mentioned the most booming place in town. I had the money, and was ready to splash it on her.She glanced at me and shook her head in refusal.“Pick another place. A less blooming place. A hidden location where you are not too known.”Without thinking twice, I accepted. I mentioned the palm wine joint which is close to one bush to her. It was a new cooling spot that people recommended highly, since after it's recent sparkling emergence. I had not been there before. She accepted instantly.“How will I know if you will come or not, since I don't have your phone number, and you too refused to take mine.” I asked in stark confusion.“See you there by 7pm,” she said and loosened my grip from her hand and walked away.“What kind of girl is this?” I asked in rhetoric. “Well, maybe she is having a bad day.” I said, then snapped my finger and left.To be continued...
